Round, square or rectangular, solid wires made of copper or aluminium, with outstanding electrical properties, high dielectric strength and excellent mechanical integrity are ideal for use in electric motors. LEONI is now introducing its core expertise of extrusion into this application, and, with exMW offers new solutions for long-standing challenges.
Why LEONI exMW?
LEONI exMWwill be available in three designs. Flat, rectangular and round shaped profile. That variety allows these wires to be used in both radial and axial flux motor windings.
The design of wires supports hairpin and continuous wire winding technique. The insulation material deliver an outstanding temperature and chemical resistance. A high dielectric and mechanical strength is given in parallel.
The insulation material is free of solvent, as is our production process. LEONI exMW, a solid wire covered with a monolayer of polymer insulation material, will contribute to a more ecofriendly concept.
LEONI exMWenables you to design a more powerful and efficient engine within the same dimension of wire due to the performance at 800V technique and beyond.
A recycling of used materials is possible. The thermoplastic insulation material can be melted and transferred into a second life process. The bare copper wire can be reused as well. No enamels
or solvents of any kind are used.
Especially the rectangular shape of wire helps to increase the slot fill factor to enable more torque and power of your electric engine. All in all, the LEONI exMWwill help to save valuable resources.
